Ryan's 2020 Port to Fort 6k Supporters
Hello and welcome to my Port to Fort 6k fundraising page! I have had the great pleasure of volunteering at the Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins the past 5 years. In just the short time I have been at the House, I have been so humbled and touched by what I have seen. It is truly a special place where critically ill children and their families can have a "normal" life. While it is heartbreaking to see very young children who are so sick, it is also incredibly inspiring to see their smiles, drive, and courageousness, along with those same 3 things from their families. In addition, the Believe In Tomorrow staff are always kind, courteous, and energetic and their energy is contagious: to the children, families, and volunteers. To say this is a worthy cause would be a BIG understatement.
I have committed not only to running to raise awareness for this great cause, but also to raise funds in support of a great mission. By teaming with Believe In Tomorrow, I have become part of a national alliance against childhood cancer and illness. We are committed to helping alleviate the incredible stress on families who are dealing with a child’s medical crisis. We are called the Believe Battalion.
The money that Believe Battalion members raise helps ensure families never have to worry about their basic family needs while their child is in treatment – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
By participating and giving to my page, you are supporting critically ill children. Visit https://believeintomorrow.org to learn more and read about some of the children and families BIT serves.
I really hope that you will consider donating; and I want to stress that NO amount is too small. If you cannot give monetarily, I hope you would consider coming out and volunteering your time at the race on April 19th, 2020. Please feel free to share this with anyone you feel may be interested in helping to support such an amazing cause. Thanks in advance for your time and generosity!
All the best,
